Introduction
The multimedia brochure is a great example of how interactive the iPad/iPhone app surfing can be: the multimedia pages highlight and grant visibility to the client’s products.
Below are the features of the multimedia brochure application developed for IKEA. We have also carried out the online version for IKEA Spain.
Features
Pages can be turned over in several ways: Manually by lightly touching the iPhone/iPad screen with fingers to turn over the pages. Through the toolbar, with the backward and forward buttons, just by tapping the arrows related to the next or previous pages, or by inserting the number of a specific page. Users can decide to visualize only the products belonging to a specific category through the menu divided in chapters, just by tapping the selected category.
Interactive
Every product of the catalogue presents a clickable hotspot which activates pop up images, animations, videos, 3D videos of animated products, and pop up texts with details and information about the product.
Bookmarks
Each page of the brochure can be stored in a list by tapping the relative button.
The bookmark list is always viewable through the button provided in the toolbar.
Zoom
To visualize the product details users can use the zoom feature.
Post-it
Users can write and save notes in a defined area of the app, while consulting the catalogue without having to close the app itself.
Facebook connection
Users can publish on their wall the pages they would like to share.
Users can send an email including the link to the catalogue page they are currently watching.
Web connection
The app allows to connect to one or more selected websites through a direct connection to the web.
Static pages
Users can create an infinite number of pages including links to other external websites, which are useful both to retrieve information and to insert promotional banners.
Landscape and portrait visualization
Users can choose between two different ways of visualization:
• Landscape: two-page horizontal visualization (just like a magazine).
• Portrait: single page vertical visualization.
